Our Story

In the fall of 1999 Sardis began to see the need to expand its
educational programs and put “HUNTERS OF THE SKY”on the road throughout Washington. Sardis now focuses on education about raptors, that is much needed by communities, all over the Pacific Northwest.
This awe-inspiring program presents many different raptors who are "Educational Ambassadors". These magnificent birds of prey range from bald eagles, peregrine falcons, hawks, as well as owls from all over the world, including the largest owl of the world, the Eurasian Eagle Owl.
These raptors are former patients in our rehabilitation center and have had permanent injuries that prevent their release into the wild. They are lovingly cared for by our volunteers at our center.
The program has traveled to countless fairs, schools, scout groups, community clubs, and organizations around the Northwest. It has appeared at the National Wildlife Federation, U.S. Fish and Wildlife, State of Washington Fish and Wildlife, the Seattle Pacific Science Center grand opening and other festivals.
It has been featured in national magazines such as the National Wildlife Federation News, Horizon Magazine from Alaska Airlines, to name a few, and has appeared on television and radio spots all over the state.
Please let us know if you would like our amazing educational ambassador birds to come to your venue and share their stories.
