Bu is an Eurasian Eagle Owl. Originally part of a captive breeding program in Missouri, she was purchased for education after attacking her prospective mate. Twice. While eagle owls aren't native to the States, they are closely related to great horned owls. Bu's names come from the scientific name for her species, Bubo bubo.
